Chelsea ready Ethan Ampadu at RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig, third in the last Bundesliga championship, on Monday officially announced the arrival of young Welsh international defender Ethan Ampadu, loaned by the English club Chelsea until June 2020.

"I have seen in recent years how young players can develop at RB Leipzig (...), it's a perfect step for me," said Ampadu, who can also play defensive midfielder.

Regarded in Wales as one of the great hopes of football, the 18-year-old defenseman already has 8 caps with the A and was particularly involved against France in November 2017 in a friendly match.

A player with "incredible talent", according to Wales coach Ryan Giggs, Ampadu also played in 12 games under Chelsea's colors, including three in the Europa League this season.

He is the fourth player to join the transfer window RB Leipzig, which has recruited the international Espoirs French Christopher Nkunku from Paris SG.
